The Government laid out a range of measures to reduce the amount of energy used in homes in its Net Zero Strategy. These include consulting on phasing in higher minimum performance standards to ensure all homes meet EPC Band C by 2035, getting all fuel poor homes to EPC Band C by 2030 where practical, cost effective and affordable, increasing the environmental performance of energy-related products and by setting long-term regulatory standards to upgrade Privately Rented Homes to EPC C by 2028.Low-income homes will also be supported through schemes like the Home Upgrade Grant and the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
