Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many people have been supplied with hearing aids by (a) age group and (b) gender, in each of the last five years.

Information is not collected centrally on the age or gender of people prescribed hearing aids. In 2016, a total of 1,373,444 hearing aids were prescribed by the National Health Service.
