Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, who is responsible for (a) appointing and (b) removing chief clinical officers of Clinical Commissioning Groups.

Responsibility for the appointment and removal of a chief clinical officer lies with the clinical commissioning group and is undertaken within a framework set by NHS England.
