Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Answer of 7 November 2017 to Question 107852, on community relations: religion, what the criteria are for the allocation of funds to religious organisations.
Integration funding is used to support work which brings communities together and promotes tolerance. Under section 70 (1) of the Charities Act 2006, a relevant Minister may give financial assistance to any charitable, benevolent or philanthropic institution in respect of any of the institution's activities which directly or indirectly benefit the whole or any part of England. Proposals from any organisations, including those with a significant faith element, are assessed on value for money, deliverability and feasibility, as well as the likely outcomes to be achieved.
