Council Tax: Poverty

Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, whether his Department has made an assessment of the effects on the number of (a) households and (b) children living in poverty of changes to council tax in the last 12 months.

Local authorities are responsible for setting levels of council tax. Council tax is 9.1 pre cent lower in real terms in 2017-18 than it was in 2010-11.
