We are considering all evidence submitted to the Government’s public consultation on whether to make permanent the temporary measure allowing for home use of both pills for early medical abortion. We will publish our response as soon as possible.

The Department is also continuing to work closely with organisations such as the Care Quality Commission, statutory bodies, NHS England and independent providers to monitor system capacity in relation to the temporary approval of home use for both early medical abortion pills up to 10 weeks gestation.
