We believe that community cycling facilities help children, families and adults become active, improving health and wellbeing while reducing pressure on the NHS and that existing programmes have delivered proven results. Government backing is needed to expand this model across the UK.

Community cycling facilities help tackle physical inactivity, improve mental health, and support children, families and under-represented groups to be active. One independent analysis of British Cycling's Places to Ride programme linked it to over £13m in estimated NHS savings and £100m+ in social value. Scaling proven models would deliver long-term health, transport and community benefits across the UK. This supports national prevention, active travel and social prescribing priorities.
