Mandatory microchipping of cats becomes law this year(2024).

Many vets and animal welfare organisations scan cats for microchips. We want ALL councils to be required to do the same for any deceased cat.

People pay up to £30 per cat to microchip them, to help reunification, but currently a deceased cat can be disposed of without needing to check if he/she is chipped, or trying to reunite them with their companion/owner!

We believe this is not acceptable.
