The Government should set an age limit of 10 for infants and children having their ears pierced, and require a parent or guardian to be present up to age of 16..

Parents should not be able to have their children's ears pierced when they are under the age of 10, as this can be painful and even lead to infection. Wearing earrings can also increase the risk of injury for a child.

Between the age of 10 and 15 a parent or guardian should need to be present for a child's ears to be pierced, for their protection.
