There is nothing in place to compel companies to provide any general training or assistance to employees who may be worried about, or currently dealing with, mental health problems, which means a lot of people are suffering in silence, too afraid to speak to employers about what is happening with them for fear of losing their jobs or being ridiculed. This can lead to a number of issues, including employees taking time off work due to their poor mental health, and their mental health deteriorating.
