Ban the use of rock salt to grit pavements for the welfare of animals

I would like the Government to ban the use of rock salt that can be toxic to animals to grit pavements and public paths. Local councils may use it because it’s cheaper, but the pain and illness animals can experience if they ingest the grit is not right.
