Scrap or significantly increase Pension Lifetime Allowance to encourage saving

Recent (2016) pension tax relief changes have had a damaging effect on individuals willingness to save for retirement or even remain in key professions. The LTA at just over 1 Million means even middle class workers are getting caught by punitive tax bills. People are leaving the NHS as a result.

A number of articles including research by the FT suggest highly experienced consultants are leaving the NHS to avoid punitive tax bills. It is not just the NHS, as everyone should be encouraged to save and benefit from investment growth.
