Written Questions can be tabled by MPs and Lords to request specific information information on the work, policy and activities of a Government Department
18th Nov 2014
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many full-time equivalent officials in his Department work on the availability of off-patent drugs to be used in new indications.

These issues are relevant to the responsibilities of a number of officials in the Department and in the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. The amount of official time spent on such issues is not fixed and will vary.

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what estimate he has made of the potential funds that will accrue to the public purse from the Europe for Citizens Programme.

No estimate has been made of potential funds that will accrue to the public purse from the Europe for Citizens Programme.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what his Department's priorities are for provisions to be included in the forthcoming Modern Slavery Bill.

The Modern Slavery Bill is an important step in the fight against modern
slavery. The provisions in the Bill are designed to protect victims and
strengthen the law enforcement response. Increased sentences, restricting the
activities of those who pose a risk to others and introducing an Anti-Slavery
Commissioner will ensure that law enforcement have the tools they need to
prosecute and convict the perpetrators of this abhorrent crime, whilst at the
same time protecting more people from becoming victims of this appalling crime.
