Fawaz Akhras
Asked by: Lord Green of Deddington (Crossbench - Life peer)
Monday 17th March 2025

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government what steps they are taking to ensure that Dr Fawaz Akhras, a British citizen, is able to return to the United Kingdom.

Answered by Lord Collins of Highbury - Lord in Waiting (HM Household) (Whip)

Any requests for assistance to help facilitate the return of British Nationals to the UK are considered with published policy, and applications may take longer during periods of high demand, or when further enquiries need to be made.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office provides information on the assistance we can provide, and to whom, in our publication: Support for British nationals abroad (https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/support-for-british-nationals-abroad).
