To ask His Majesty's Government what progress they have made on the review of single living accommodation for service personnel which is due to report this summer.

The Single Living Accommodation (SLA) and Overseas Accommodation Review was launched in January 2026. The independent review is being delivered by a team of external experts led by Natalie Elphicke Ross OBE.

The Review is examining existing accommodation provision, living conditions, and value for money for Service Personnel. The team have engaged widely across the Ministry of Defence, including the Military Commands, speaking directly with service personnel, delivery teams and policy leads. This includes a comprehensive programme of cross-departmental engagement and focus groups with serving personnel to understand their lived experience and priorities for improvement.

Phase One of the Review, which focuses on SLA across the UK estate, is on track to report this Summer. This report will make recommendations to improve service standards, satisfaction and value for money in the delivery of SLA. Phase Two of the Review, which will cover the overseas estate, will be concluded by the end of the year.
