All of the cars above are managed by Defra Group Fleet Services (Environment Agency). However, they manage their own fleets and we do not hold the information requested.

Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what percentage of vehicles used to convey Cabinet, and other ministers, are all-electric.
Answered by Baroness Vere of Norbiton - Parliamentary Secretary (HM Treasury)
48% of the GCS fleet is now either battery electric, petrol/electric hybrid or hydrogen powered. The Government Car Service (GCS) is a division of the central Department for Transport (DfT), 16% of their fleet are battery electric vehicles.
The GCS are not the only provider of vehicles for ministerial transport. Some Departments have their own car fleet, others use private contractors or the Metropolitan Police, this information is not held by the DfT.

Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what progress has been made on increasing the number of plug-in cars and vans in each government department’s fleet since 2014; how many plug-in cars and vans were in each fleet as of April 2019; and what proportion that is of the total number of vehicles owned and rented by each government department.

This information is not currently held centrally. However, the Government has committed to electrify 25% of central government cars by 2022, and 100% by 2030. As part of delivering this commitment, from 2019/20 statistics on the share of electric vehicles in each Department’s fleet will be included in the Greening Government Commitments annual report.
