We would like the Government to change the law to eradicate 'use by' dates on fresh fruit, vegetables and salad products. 'Best before' dates could be used to show when products may decline in quality, but we do not think 'use by' dates, that prevent food being distributed, are appropriate.
Make it compulsory for all dogs to be on leads on public land.

Restrict the use of disclaimers by police to relinquish ownership of dogs

Currently police can seize dogs under section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA) and can then ask the owners to relinquish ownership by agreeing to sign a disclaimer. We want police not to be allowed to use these disclaimers until a dog has been assessed for type.
Require animal-tested product packaging to state animal and include images

Make puppy farming illegal

Puppy farming uses dogs to breed for money. We believe the people running the farms often don't care about the dogs' welfare and will get dogs impregnated over and over again to make as much money as possible, even if this endangers the dog's health.

Remove exemption of stalking and flushing out for foxes in the Hunting Act 2004

The Hunting Act 2004 currently exempts the use of up to two dogs to stalk and flush out foxes. We believe that this exemption is being used as an excuse to send dogs to kill the foxes. The exemption should be removed.
Use water company fines to fund sewage warnings and improved water testing

The Government has said money from fines to water companies that pollute rivers and seas will be invested in schemes that benefit the natural environment. It will take decades to fix water quality. Some of this cash should fund immediate sewage pollution warnings and improved water quality testing.
