NHS England and NHS Improvement have been working jointly since 1 April 2019. Their Executive Group spans both organisations and includes Prerana Issar, Chief People Officer for the National Health Service, who was appointed 1 April 2019 as a National Director.

Their Board is formed by the Executive Group (National Directors), Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors. The Executive Directors listed on both NHS England and NHS Improvement websites are voting members of the Board for each organisation.
