Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask His Majesty's Government whether the current HS2 rolling stock will be leased or purchased; what loading gauge(s) it will be built to; and on which routes a train of greater gauge than W6 will be capable or operating.

HS2 Ltd is purchasing the rolling stock from a Joint Venture of Hitachi and Alstom. The purchased HS2 rolling stock will be gauge-compatible with its operational routes.
