Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon on 26 March (HL6283), what assessment they have made of reported restrictions on the ability to celebrate Christian holidays in India.

Officials from the British High Commission in New Delhi recently met representatives of minority group. None of these groups reported restrictions on celebrating holidays in India. However in view of the reports to which the noble Lord refers, I am asking officials in New Delhi to look further into these reports.
