Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government how they intend to promote anonymous electoral registration for people who have been victims of domestic violence, or whose personal safety is at serious risk as a result of their address appearing on electoral registers; and whether the process will be advertised, for example in GP surgeries.

It is the role of the Electoral Commission and Electoral Registration Officers, together

with domestic abuse charities, supported by the Government, to raise awareness of

the anonymous registration scheme with electors who may need to use it.

The Government has supported the Electoral Commission in updating guidance for electors on www.yourvotematters.co.uk.

Women’s Aid, and other domestic abuse support charities, are raising awareness of anonymous registration with their clients through their social media and general advocacy and support services.
