Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what progress they have made in the Space Based Positioning, Navigation and Timing Programme to identify a replacement for the EGNOS navigation system; and when they expect a replacement to be operational.
This question was answered on 15th February 2022
The Space Based Positioning, Navigation and Timing Programme explored a range of innovative options for strengthening the resilience of PNT services from space. The scope of the programme did not include identification of a replacement for EGNOS.
