Question to the Department for Education:

To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Barran on 20 February (HL5446), why they do not collect or collate information on unregistered alternative education providers.

This question was answered on 13th March 2023

The department stopped maintaining a central voluntary register of unregistered alternative provision providers in 2012. This followed a recommendation by the department’s Behaviour Adviser, in the report, Improving Alternative Provision.
