Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government why Charles Taylor, the ex-President of Liberia, was permitted to make a phone call from Frankland Prison to supporters in Liberia and deliver a speech to them via speakerphone.

All prisoners are eligible to make phone calls to approved numbers for both social and legal purposes and are subject to security and monitoring arrangements. Legally privileged calls remain unmonitored in line with policy requirements
