Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they have considered introducing specific savings incentives to help people prepare for social care costs in later life; if so, why they have not been introduced; and if not, why not.

The Government recognises that there needs to be reform in the medium and long term to reduce variation and ensure high quality care across the whole country. It is interested in considering the full range of options to do this, including savings incentives as a possible longer-term solution.
