Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask His Majesty's Government, in light of Biogen's withdrawal of omaveloxolone from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) appraisal process, (1) what discussions they have had, or plan to have, with Biogen about re-engaging with that process; and (2) what action, if any, they are taking to encourage Biogen to make a new evidence submission.

NHS England will be holding a commercial surgery with Biogen in December, which is expected to include discussion of omaveloxolone alongside other products.

Health is a devolved matter and decisions on the availability of medicines in the devolved administrations are a matter for their own governments.
