Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether, in a referendum on the United Kingdom membership of the European Union, those United Kingdom citizens who live in other European Union countries will be allowed a vote.

The franchise for any referendum is set out in primary legislation which establishes that referendum. It will therefore be for Parliament to agree the franchise to be used in any future referendum on UK membership of the European Union.
