Based on information held by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency about manufacturing sites that are licensed to produce biological medicines for human use, there are nine facilities which have the capability to produce vaccines in the United Kingdom.

These are as follows:

FujiFilm Diosynth, Billingham;

National Health Service Blood and Transplant, University of Bristol;

Lonza, Slough;

BioReliance, Glasgow;

Valneva Scotland Ltd, Livingston;

Medimmune, Liverpool;

Porton BioPharma Ltd, Salisbury;

Seqiris Vaccines, Liverpool; and

Ipsen Biopharm Ltd, Wrexham.

A tenth facility, Cancer Research UK’s Clare Hall Laboratories, Potters Bar, is currently closed for refurbishment work.
