The Government continues to work closely with our French counterparts through the Channel Tunnel Intergovernmental Commission to supervise and monitor the safety of the Channel Tunnel. The design of HGV Shuttles is only one aspect of the technical and operational measures that have been put in place and regularly reviewed to ensure the Channel Tunnel remains an acceptably safe operation.
