We have important human rights concerns relating to trials in Iraq's domestic courts, including those of persons suspected of support for Daesh. We regularly raise these concerns with the Iraqi governmental and judicial authorities – reiterating the importance of respect for international standards of due process and fair trial and our opposition to the death penalty. Separately we continue to support the UN Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by Daesh (UNITAD) in Iraq.
