Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) are a globally recognised care model for secondary fracture prevention. They can reduce the risk of refracture by up to 40% for people at risk of osteoporosis.

FLSs are commissioned by integrated care boards which are well-placed to make decisions according to local need. Officials have been working closely with NHS England on how to ensure better quality and access to FLSs, including on how best to support systems.
