Prison Officers: Termination of Employment

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask Her Majesty's Government how many prison officers have left the Prison Service in the past 12 months who had (1) over five years’ service, and (2) over 10 years’ service; and what were the reasons given for their departure.
The number of band 3-5 prison officers who left the service in the 12 months to 30 June 2017 is provided in the table below.

Notes
- The ‘Other’ category largely consists of fixed-term appointments coming to the end of their contract.
- ~ Denotes suppressed values of 2 or fewer or other values which allow values of 2 or fewer to be derived by subtraction. Low numbers are suppressed to prevent disclosure in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 1998.
