We are aware of some allegations circulating on social media relating to a vehicle bearing what appear to be UN markings. We are unable to verify these as the provenance of the images is unclear, but any allegations of persons seeking to misrepresent themselves as UN personnel are of serious concern to the UK. We liaise closely with members of the international community and the UN in Sudan to analyse and assess the situation on the ground, including the government of Sudan's response to ongoing protests. We continue to urge the government of Sudan, through public messaging and direct engagement at the highest levels, to respect the rights of the Sudanese people, including their right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
