Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether, before awarding Seaborne Freight a contract to provide additional shipping services to and from Ramsgate in the event of a no deal Brexit, they complied with the provisions of section 7 of the Government Functional Standards for General Grants Guidance that "all Government grants shall be subject to timely and proportionate due diligence and fraud risk assessment"; and whether they will place a copy of any contract due diligence report in the Library of the House.

No grants have been made to Seaborne Freight, nor are there any plans to make any. Seaborne Freight has been contracted to provide ferry services and will only be paid for those services after they have been provided.
