Whilst operating under recent social distancing restrictions, train operating companies have continued to offer support and assistance to disabled passengers on-board trains, wherever and whenever it is sought. There are now over 14,000 modern vehicles in service benefit from audio visual passenger information systems, priority seating, dedicated wheelchair spaces and accessible toilets (where toilets are provided) which enhance the usability on-board trains by design.
