Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what estimate he has made of the number of tax credit recipients who are (a) lone parents with dependent children, (b) married or co-habiting couples with dependent children and (c) married or co-habiting couples with no dependent children who will receive universal credit by the completion of full service roll-out.
We estimate that the following numbers of Tax Credit recipient families will receive Universal Credit by the completion of Full Service roll-out:
(a) lone parents with dependent children | 2,100,000 |
(b) married or co-habiting couples with dependent children | 1,600,000 |
(c) married or co-habiting couples with no dependent children | 100,000 |
Please note that these estimates do not take account of all Tax Credit recipients because of the differences in eligibility and take-up between Tax Credits and Universal Credit.
