Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, for what reason his Department did not provide the Heywood Review with a copy of its file FCO 37/3663 on the Indian National Security Guard from 1984.

This file deals with the establishment of the Indian National Guard and does not cover the tragic events surrounding military action at the Golden Temple in Amritsar in 1984. Therefore this file did not fall within the scope of the Heywood Review and would not have affected its outcome.
