The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, which is the United Kingdom regulator for assisted conception treatments, has not made any recent assessment. Its Code of Practice on quality and safety requirements for the supply of cryopreserved sperm for home insemination is updated on a regular basis. The Code states that: ‘Sperm should be supplied for insemination at home (or another unlicensed site) only in exceptional circumstances’.
