The Department’s MP Hotlines are reserved for urgent cases involving wellbeing risks, imminent loss of income, or other situations requiring immediate action, and are not intended for routine enquiries. There is currently no MP Hotline backlog. While higher volumes and increasingly complex cases have affected wider correspondence response times, the Department has taken steps to strengthen capacity and oversight. These improvements are helping to reduce backlogs and support more timely responses for hon. Members.
