The Threat Level in Northern Ireland is under constant review by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC). There is a formal assessment of the Threat Level, which is reviewed twice yearly. This was done most recently in March - where the threat level was set at Substantial - and will be reviewed again in September this year.

The security incidents in Lurgan and Dunmurry earlier this year, as well as the recent disorder were attacks on the Police and our communities. May I take this opportunity to put on record my gratitude to the PSNI and community groups working tirelessly to tackle this trend and keep our communities safe.
