The incident in which a civilian was injured after finding an unignited mini flare on Archer Post Training Area occurred on 23 January 2021. The civilian was a 13 year old Kenyan child, he sustained minor injuries (lacerations and burns) and required medical attention. The matter was investigated by the Kenyan authorities as the incident took place on Kenyan land and the child was a Kenyan national.
