Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many defendants have spent an extra night in police custody as a result of there not being enough time to hear their case during the court day since the start of the covid-19 outbreak.

Neither HMCTS nor MOJ, hold any data as to the number of defendants who have been held for an additional night in police custody due to lack of court time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
