Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what recent assessment his Department has made of the effect of the Growth Plan 2022 on household incomes by income distribution.
On 17 October, the Chancellor announced a reversal of almost all of the tax measures set out in the Growth Plan that have not been legislated for in parliament.
The Prime Minister and Chancellor have agreed the Autumn Statement will be delivered on 17 November. It will contain the UK’s medium term fiscal plan to put public spending on a sustainable footing, get debt falling and restore economic stability.
The Chancellor has been clear that difficult decisions may be needed but he will continue to prioritise the needs of the most vulnerable.
