Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, with reference to his oral statement of 14 July 2020 on UK Telecommunications, what plans he has to publish the clear and ambitious diversification strategy referred to in that statement.

We are working at pace to develop and take forward our diversification strategy. In developing this strategy the Government is considering a wide range of actions in the short, medium and long-term that support diversification to protect incumbent suppliers, introduce new vendors and accelerate the development of new telecoms technologies. We will set out further detail later in the year.
