Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to the announcement of the then Minister for Constitutional Reform on 22 October 2015, the launch of an online academy to promote best practice in electoral services, what progress his Department has made on that policy proposal to date; and what the reason is for the time taken to implement that policy proposal.

The Cabinet Office, Electoral Commission and Association of Electoral Administrators agreed that work to identify, promote and develop sharing good practice, will be led by the Electoral Commission and Association of Electoral Administrators through existing infrastructure rather than creating a new 'academy' platform. The Cabinet Office will continue to play an important role as a partner in this work.
