Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what recent assessment he has made of the effect of disposable barbeques on the environment.

Defra has made no specific assessment of the environmental impact of disposable barbecues.

The Government is working with Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, National Park Authorities, and across Government departments to help inform people about the countryside including an updated Countryside Code, which advises against barbecues or fires.
