Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Statement of Lord Bourne of Ashworth of 1 July 2016 on Security of Tenure, domestic violence, when he plans to set out the circumstances under which local authorities may exercise discretion in transferring lifetime tenancies for those seeking escape from domestic violence.

We will set out the circumstances in which councils can continue to grant lifetime tenancies in regulations and we aim to lay the regulations later this year.
