Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what plans her Department has to expedite the process of permanent residency applications from nationals of other EU member states.

In fairness to all applicants, applications for residence documentation under the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016, including applications for documents certifying permanent residence, are considered in order of date of receipt.

In some exceptional circumstances, European Casework will expedite consideration of an application on grounds of family emergencies such as bereavement or serious illness or the need to travel for essential medical treatment overseas.
