Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what additional support her Department provides for people who are deaf and hard of hearing during asylum processes.

Asylum claims made by those who are deaf or hard of hearing are processed in a way that ensures that claimants are not disadvantaged. Where available, officials will use hearing loops, signers or allow the submission of written evidence. Relevant support groups will also be engaged if appropriate.
