Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department is taking steps to help ensure Statutory Declaration of Acknowledgement of Parentage forms are more available to parents as part of their birthing plan.

The Department is not taking any such steps. NHS England’s Three-Year Delivery Plan for maternity and neonatal services sets out that all women should be offered personalised care and support plans which take account of their physical health, mental health, social complexities and choices.
